Legislative Action Team
The Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Action Committee reviews the upcoming federal, state and local legislation to make educated recommendations to the Chamber’s Board of Directors that will promote and foster business for our members.
The committee reviews pending legislation, debates opposing sides, seeks counsel from our local officials and finally, if required, will send a supporting or opposing letter to the legislative group voting on the issue.
“As a member of the Chamber’s Political Action Committee, I would like to extend an invitation to you to get involved. The committee meets on the third Monday of every month at 3:30 in the Chamber office on Hwy 111.”
Naran Reitman – Committee Chairperson.
This is an important arm of the Chamber’s function in the business community. The Committee and members of the Chamber are invited annually to attend functions at the State Capitol and Washington, D.C. These are informative and very important trips where committee members not only see where legislation is done but are given a chance to meet “on their turf” their elected officials and discuss pending topics that are affecting the business community. If this is something you have a passion for please call the chamber at (760) 346-6111.
